ISO 22716 certification and consultancy
What is ISO 22716?
UNI EN ISO 22716:2008 is an international standard that establishes Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines for cosmetic products. This standard is entitled ‘Cosmetics – Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) – Guidelines on Good Manufacturing Practices’ and was developed to ensure the quality, safety and conformity of cosmetic products during their production and packaging process. As it is a guideline, it is not mandatory; however, it enables compliance with the requirements of European Regulation 1223/2009 on the production of cosmetics in Europe, thus ensuring compliance with most of its provisions. ISO 22716 was first published in 2007 and was then revised in 2008 to make some corrections and adjustments.
How can we help you?
Orlando Engineering & Consulting offers a consultancy service generally divided into five phases. Starting with an audit at the Client’s company, non-conformities with respect to the requirements of the standard are identified. Subsequently, in collaboration with management, the evidence is evaluated and the solutions proposed by Orlando Engineering & Consulting are identified in order to adapt processes and the company system to the UNI EN ISO 22716:2008 standard. The creation of the required documents is a shared work between the Client’s team and the Orlando Engineering & Consulting team, with continuous supervision by the referring consultant. Before certification body’s audit, a second internal audit is carried out to ensure that the entire quality management system is under control. Finally, during the certification process, the referring consultant will directly support the client to ensure that the certificate of conformity with the standard is obtained. ISO 22716 can be a challenge for small companies, especially if they are not used to working with quality management systems. However, with the support of an expert, it is possible to successfully implement this standard without compromising production efficiency. In fact, this implementation can often lead to improvements in the quality and safety of company products.
